All breeds start from scratch, some remain small and others reach a normal size. But some are getting bigger. Like really big.
Here are 13 breeds that go beyond the “one size fits all” rule.
1. Scottish Hunting Dog
Known as the “Royal Dog of Scotland,” these types can weigh between 95 and 110 pounds and average about 30 centimeters.
2. Irish Wolfound
Did you know that the Irish Wolfhound is the largest of all dogs? Size is not an exaggeration, an adult male can reach a height of 32 to 34 inches at the shoulder and easily weigh 120 pounds.
3. Black Russian Terrier
They can reach up to 140 pounds! We repeat, 140 pounds. As puppies, these guys are cute, but faster than you think, you have an adult puppy before the age of one. According to the AKC, the Black Russian Terrier was created through Red Star Kennels, a Soviet kennel program controlled by the army and dedicated to the development of special breeds.
4. Great Dane
In about six weeks, the Great Dane can weigh up to 20 pounds. (Wait, it doesn’t seem very small…) This is why The Great Danes are limited to activities when they are young due to health complications such as skeletal abnormalities, hip dysplasia (hip arthritis) and osteochondrosis, a condition that affects the joints of young, growing dogs.open next Page to See More
