15 strangers help stolen dog cover 2,000 miles at home

Kindness goes a long way
Many people have heard the story of Zeus and wanted to help. So Many Paws Volunteer Transport and Kanawha Charleston Humane Association decided to work together to bring Zeus home. 15 different drivers volunteered to take turns driving Zeus from West Virginia to Montana.

All of the volunteers were dog lovers who know how important a dog is. They were all happy to help. Many of them bonded with Zeus throughout the trip, and he was even able to spend the night in several different homes. They travelled through 9 states over a 4 day period.

The Kanawha Humane Association has posted updates on Zeus throughout its travels. He made a lot of friends along the way, including Sissy, a small Missouri dog who went to a rescue group in Colorado.

Zeus was able to chat with his mother via video before going home. They were both delighted to see each other. After that, Zeus was so much happier and he kept going around in enthusiasm.

Zeus is Home!

2,000 miles later, Zeus made it home in time for Christmas. A volunteer with Many Paws waited patiently with Rasmussen and her daughters for Zeus to arrive. When he finally entered the building, none of them could contain their excitement. It truly was a beautiful reunion.
