grieving dog keeps cuddling the pillow of his dead brother

“Rocky must have been knocked down that day,” Fisher said. “It was hard to digest Rocky’s sudden death, but we can’t imagine how hard it must be for Spencer to have lost his little brother.”

Spencer was heartbroken.

“Since Rocky’s death, Spencer has been up at night wandering around the house looking for his brother,” Fisher said. “And then he starts to cry because he can’t find it.”

In order to keep the two brothers close, Rocky’s ashes were placed on a shelf above where he and Spencer used to sleep. However, more was needed to help Spencer cope.

It was then that Fisher’s father got an idea and ordered Spencer a pillow with Rocky’s smiling face printed.

Immediately, it seems that the gift helped to make him feel comfortable.

The pillow, which was a way to honor Rocky’s memory, somehow managed to fill some of the void left in Spencer’s heart.

“Spencer has snuggled up in the pillow since his arrival, carrying him from the couch to his own bed,” Fisher said. “He seems much more stable now that he has something to snuggle into.”

Of course, nothing could replace Rocky, but for Spencer, the pillow seemed to be a comfort at bedtime.
