Once described as “aggressive”, Pit Bull showers with love on its adopted kittens
We believe the gossip, “Cats against dogs” is a battle for eternity. It is a story told many times, about how the two species cannot tolerate each other, let alone be friends. But as true dog lovers know, our canine friends have a heart big enough to love any creature that crosses their path – and that includes felines.
It seems that it is the dogs that need the most love that have the most to give. Mack, a mixture of blue Pit/Lab with soft face, had an unfortunate start. He now lives a much happier life with his human, Analisa Trstensky, but she tells iHeartDogs that he hasn’t always been so lucky. At only a year and a half old, Mack had already suffered a lifetime of scars and injuries, inside and out.
“Mack and his brother were tied to a tree with barely food or water. The owner continued to try to rehabilitate them, but somehow they kept coming back. The shelter finally intervened. His brother was adopted shortly after, but Mack was labeled as aggressive and was added to the list of people to euthanize. Chris [a shelter employee] noticed that while Mack was aggressive when he was at the kennel, he also soiled himself out of fear. That’s when Chris stepped in and asked the shelter for the opportunity to work with Mack before the final decisions were made. open next page to See video
