The wild elk came to visit his dog friend for years
It does not appear that this companion dog and the wild elk have much in common.
But the happy couple formed an unlikely friendship – thanks to their sense of shared pleasure.
In recent years, around this time, a herd of elk has visited the property of a Colorado park and wildlife officer and his puppy, Trygge. While their presence is still a sight to behold, Trygge does more than just watch.
From the start, the friendly dog managed to form a surprising friendship with the herd leader – a large elk. And soon after, they invented a game of their own.
As the herd watches, their leader and Trygge embark on what is essentially a tag game – continuing back and forth along the fence.
The rules of the game are not written, of course, but the dog and the elk respect each other enough for the interaction to be safe and fun for both.
“They never seem to get aggressive with each other,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesperson Bill Vogrin told Dodo. “In fact, the bull could easily jump into the yard if he wanted to. But they keep their distance through the fence.”
And hopefully, this unlikely friendship will last for many more years. open next Page To See VIDEO
